Spring is Here!!!

And what does that mean? Spring shots, and flies! I contacted Timex's caretakers the other week to inquire about spring shots and of course they were already all over it and had made arrangements with the vet for all the horses on the farm. Yay! They take such good care of him. This past week I also went online to one of my favorite tack stores, Mary's Tack and Feed, http://www.marystack.com/ (they always seem to have hard to find items in stock, have great customer service and reasonable prices) and ordered some fly masks for Mr. T now that spring is here. I really like the Cashel's with ears, so two of them should be arriving this week, and hopefully Timex will like them too!

February '09 Visit

Last month I made a visit to Timex to finally give him some of his Christmas presents. Of course the new treats were the big hit but he seemed to enjoy the grooming with his new brushes and he looked beautiful in his new bridle. I even got on his back for a few minutes to shoot some pictures.

Most importantly Timex seemed really happy and relaxed. When I arrived he was laying flat out sleeping in the sun on some of the hay that had been pulled out of the round bale.

His weight is good and he looks to be the picture of health which is great considering its the middle of winter and the grass is pretty much gone. Only thing I'm not used too was his rough looking hooves so he is now on an official 6 week trimming schedule.
